I am in Montreal mostly, transitioning into sabbatical, which officially begins on 1 July. In fall term I will be in residence as a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, in the Epistemes of Modern Acoustics Group. There, with Mara Mills, I will be completing a co-written book manuscript tentative titled The Speed of Sound: A History of Time-Stretching and Pitch Shifting. This summer I am advancing some other writing projects–on Shakespeare, missile mail, and algorithmic mastering (not related to one another)–and doing musical things.
