24 March
Just so we're clear, there's a response paper due Monday (26th) on Gandy. Wednesday will be an opportunity for groups to meet and discuss their projects, and I'll be available to discuss projects as well. Please arrive Friday (30th) and Monday (2nd) having done the readings. There may be quizzes those days!
Also, remember to email me with a project proposal if you've got an idea that doesn't fit into any group projects or you want to work alone.

IMPORTANT NEWS:
1. Your semester project assignment is up and was handed out Wednesday. Act fast on choosing groups and subjects.
2. After discussing it with the class, I am eliminating the final exam for the course. This means that your semester project is even more important. The 15% of your grade that was assigned to the final exam will be divided up as follows:
5% -- semester project (so it's 25%)
5% -- responses to others' presentations (a new and simple thing, will be explained in class)
5% -- your reflection paper (now 20% of your grade -- this should encourage revision)
The next week's worth of reading assignments are as follows:
Friday the 23rd-- Stauber and Rampton (questions up under readings)
coming soon to the readings page:
Monday -- Gandy "It's Discrimination. . . "
Wednesday -- no reading due
Friday the 30th -- The Future of Music Manifesto (online)
Monday April 2nd -- Shenk "America's Altered States"
.. and that's all folks.
